Golden Heartland: Where Creative Rural Women Discover Their Path to a Joy-Led Business

About Golden Heartland

Welcome to Golden Heartland, where we're dedicated to empowering Christian women through a Joy-Led approach to entrepreneurship. We believe that every woman is uniquely gifted by God, with creativity meant to flourish in business. Our mission? To help you uncover those gifts and combine them with business skills to support the rural creative lifestyle you love.

What It Means to Be Joy-Led

Being Joy-Led isn't just a tagline for us—it's our way of life. It means seeing business as more than just making money; it's about becoming a whole person with the lifestyle of your dreams along the way.

At Golden Heartland, we focus on three key things:

  • Clarity - Decide what you want from business

  • Confidence - Build what you need to get there

  • Commitment - Action daily to make it happen

When these come together, that's where true joy in business happens—whether you're creating products, serving your customers, marketing your brand, or connecting with your community.

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
- Philippians 1:6

Meet our Founder
Tina Joy Cochran

A Faith-Driven, Joy-Led Coach Dedicated to Empowering Creative Rural Business Owners

Hi, I'm Tina Joy Cochran, founder of the Golden Heartland Guild and owner of Golden Heartland, LLC.

For more than 35 years, I've worked at the intersection of business, leadership, and community development. Along the way I've served in city government, corporate training, organizational development, nonprofit leadership, higher education, and small business. Every role taught me something valuable—but none of them answered the question I kept asking:

Is there a different way to build a business?

I believe there is.

That belief led me to create the Golden Heartland Guild—a private membership community where rural creative business owners can build successful businesses without sacrificing the life they want to live. Around here, we call that becoming a Joy-Led Business Owner.

As both a business coach and organizational development consultant, I spend my time helping people and communities discover clarity, build confidence, and take meaningful action. Through Golden Heartland, I coach Guild members each week while also consulting with rural communities on entrepreneurship, economic development, and community revitalization.

My educational background includes degrees in Finance and Human Resource Development, but my greatest lessons have come from walking the same path as the people I now serve. I know what it's like to question whether you fit traditional career paths, to wonder if your business can truly support the life you want to live, and to keep searching for a better way.

I'm also the host of the Joy-Led Business Podcast and the author of Coming Home to Joy and 30 Days to Joy, where I share practical encouragement for building a meaningful business and a meaningful life.

My Christian faith has shaped who I am and continues to guide my work. The Guild welcomes people from a variety of backgrounds who share a common desire to build businesses with purpose, integrity, and joy.

Whether we're meeting online, gathering at the Guild Hall in historic downtown Nevada, Missouri, or connecting through the Guild community, my hope is simple:

To help rural creative business owners discover that they don't have to build their business alone.

Because there really is a different way
